If you want to study or work in an English-speaking country, the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is one of the most recognized exams for certifying your language proficiency. It comes in three formats:
- Paper-based Testing (PBT) – paper-based test
- Internet-based Testing (iBT) – online test
- Computer-based Testing (CBT) – computer-based test

The most widely used version is TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test), which means you can take the test on a computer from anywhere. Your answers are sent directly to ETS (Educational Testing Service), where they are evaluated and scored.
📅 Registration and Test Scheduling
You can schedule the test directly on the official website toefl.org. You can retake it multiple times, but no sooner than 12 days after your last test. Registration must be completed at least 2 weeks before the test date.
💳 Cost and Payment Methods
The exam fee varies by location and can be paid via PayPal or credit/debit card. After taking the test, the score certificate can be mailed upon request.
🎯 TOEFL Score and Its Validity
Your TOEFL score is valid for 2 years. Each institution sets its own minimum score requirements for admission:
- 🔹 Below 70 points – for colleges and schools
- 🔹 80-90 points – for university admission
- 🔹 Above 90 points – for master’s or PhD programs

The TOEFL test lasts approximately 4 hours and assesses your skills in:
